Picture
Perfect Pixel HD Engine for unrivalled sharpness and clarity
Perfect Pixel HD Engine offers the unique combination of ultimate sharpness, natural detail, vivid colors and smooth natural motion on all qualities of HD, standard TV signals and multimedia content, for high definition displays. Each pixel of the incoming picture is enhanced to better match the surrounding pixels, resulting in a more natural picture. Artifacts and noise in all sources from multimedia to standard TV and also in highly compressed HD content are detected and reduced ensuring that the picture is clean and razor sharp.
Full HD LCD display, with a 1920x1080p resolution
The Full HD screen has the widescreen resolution of 1920 x 1080p. This is the highest resolution of HD sources for the best possible picture quality. It is fully future proof as it supports 1080p signals from all sources, including the most recent like Blu-ray and advanced HD game consoles. The signal processing is extensively upgraded to support this much higher signal quality and resolution. It produces brilliant flicker-free progressive scan pictures with superb brightness and colors.
HD Natural Motion for ultra smooth motion in Full HD movies
Philips invented HD Natural Motion to eliminate juddering effects that are visible with movie based picture content. HD Natural Motion estimates motion in the picture and corrects juddering movements in both broadcast and recorded movie material (such as DVD and Blu-ray Disc). The resulting smooth motion reproduction and excellent sharpness take the viewing experience to a higher level. HD Natural Motion removes judder from SD and HD pictures, including 1080p, for a motion performance that surpasses the cinema!
120Hz Clear LCD, 2ms performance for superb motion sharpness
120Hz Clear LCD creates extreme motion sharpness for clear and vibrant images even with fast on-screen motion. The Double Frame Rate Insertion works with a high 120Hz refresh rate. It increases the sharpness of motion reproduction to more than twice that of conventional LCD, resulting in a response time of 2 milliseconds (measured in Perceived Blur-Edge-Width; BEW). This unique Philips technology brings motion sharpness of LCD displays to an unprecedented level.
Sound
Invisible speakers with incredible surround An invisible sound system that blends perfectly with the design of the cabinet. The Incredible Surround allows you to experience total surround with greater depth and width of sound. It gives a clear and spacious sound stage complementary to the rich viewing experience.

With 3 HDMI inputs on the back and 1 HDMI on the side of the TV you can connect multiple HD sources, for instance an HD settop box, a Blu-ray player, and game console or digital Camcorder. Customer Reviews
Love it so much I have two This review is being posted after 7 months of ownership.
I moved to digital TV this past winter. The worst thing about going to a nice TV was it made my other TVs show their age. So I treated myself to more than one. I bought a total of 4 different brands thinking that I would have a REALLY nice TV in my living room and something less spectacular in my bedroom. I ended up returning a more expensive TV to get a second Phillips because the Phillips looked and sounded better side by side.
Others smarter than I may talk about technical specs that make this an inferior TV. I am not interested in that debate. I know which one looked best when I had them side-by-side in my home.
Watching blu ray movies is nothing less than awesome (when you get a GREAT movie recorded in blu ray.)
FYI, I looked mostly at 120Hz LCDs, but did try one plasma TV. And in case you were wondering, yes, these are quite a pain in the behind to repackage and take back to the store. But I have no shame when I am spending this much money and I can look at the output side-by-side and I realize the cheaper TV looks better.
Just aweful! Very handsome t.v., okay sound (we hooked up a surround sound because it wasn't the best quality), cheasy remote, but over all we were satisfied with it's picture and HDTV is fantastic! However, we bought this Philips 52" LCD HDTV just 15 months ago, and now it's a very expensive paper weight. After we found out that Philips Customer Service wasn't interested in talking to us (no warranty, no service!), we had to hunt down a "certified Philips Repair Center". First we had to pay them to come pick up the massive T.V. for $70.00, then we paid an additional $50.00 to have it diagnosed. We had to purchase the schematics for the T.V. repair tech because he didn't have them on hand, (?!) that was an additional $30.00 we had to pay Philips. In the end, the LCD is completely dead and it will cost $1200.00 to replace. $150.00 to find out we've been had! There are other reviews I've seen recently that say the same thing, no customer support and no way to fix the t.v. without purchasing a part that costs nearly the same as a brand new t.v. I've seen reviews where customers say it only lasted for 7 months, and no way to repair or replace it. I guess 15 months was pretty lucky? So buyers beware, Philips won't back up their product, won't deal with you, and it's probably going to cost you more than the t.v. is worth to have it fixed if anything goes wrong. We will not be purchasing any Philips products from now on considering how much we paid for that paper weight. Now I have to pay a fee to have it dumped, to add insult to injury!
(We did not have the option of buying an extended warranty, since we bought it direct from Philips!)
things you should know So you want this TV it looks like pure sex and the wife is not beating you over the head about the price right?? ok ill try to keep this short and sweet is it worth the money??? YES but you have to remember if you have any cable company or even fios understand they broadcast in 1080i not 1080p but that ok the picture syill will look great on this tv the halo effect that most hd tvs have is almost non issue here it also come with a light sensor that adjusts your picture according to the light in the room it is truly a wonderful feature that you will enjoy but want to see the true power of this tv ?? put in a blue ray disc and prepare to crap your pants , and yes there are problems as you will find that people have had with this tv on the net but remember ALL tvs have problems no matter who makes them and the problem with this one was fixed long ago with a software update and this one should have that update installed already so not to worry also if you are a gamer the 2 ms response time will make you smile from ear to ear oh and i have to admit the speakers that come with this unit are some of the best i have ever heard on a set but i have home theater and no TV speakers can compete with that look at it this way if you don't like it you can always return it but i assure you you will not .
