Design
The 6103's inner LCD display sports 128 x 160 resolution and support for 65,000 colors. Meanwhile, the outside cover of the handset features a supplementary, 96 x 65, 4,000-color display that can display picture IDs, time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. The phone's VGA (640 x 480) camera unit is placed just above this display. Up and down buttons for volume control are placed on the left side, while most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's control pad. There's also an input to accept universal hands-free headsets, as well as USB and infrared ports for transferring data to and from the handset.

Calling Features
The 6103 supports polyphonic ringtones, as well as MP3-, MIDI-, AMR- and True Tones-based music ringers so you can program your favorite songs to alert you of incoming calls. Plus, with the phone's picture ID function, you can assign pictures to your most common callers. If you want to be discreet, there's also a vibrate ringer mode. Meanwhile, voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family and associates as easy as saying their names. The 6103's phone book will keep track of all your contacts, and address book capacity is only limited by the phone's 3.5 MB of built-in memory. Instant messaging is also supported, and the phone ships with a built-in email client that supports POP3 and IMAP protocols.

Getting on the Internet is easy with the 6103, as well. Good Simple Phone
If you need a simple phone this is for you. I lost my phone. AT&T wanted $350 for an unlocked Razor. No way that was going to happen. I still had a year on my plan so I needed an unlocked phone. I don't take pictures, text or any of that stuff. I just want to call out and take a few calls when I wish to. Why pay for extra features you do not use. The buttons a good, large and the menu is easy to use. The phone is compact and the sound is great. No issues. I just put in my sim card and went.

Great simple phone
I've had this phone for over a year now (38 hours dialed, 80 hours received).
It's a tough and simple phone.
It fell in water (I opened it and dried it) and several times was "thrown" on the floor by mistake and it's still working fine.
The battery lasts several day. I usually charge it once a week.

Update from February 2009: One more year went by, still using the phone daily. A few more drops and a bit of the plastic casing is missing but everything else is good. Now at 124 hours dialed and 55 hours received).

works great for me
I bought this phone after being a loyal Motorola customer for years. After starting with a Nokia phone, I wanted a clamshell type phone, so began using a Motorola. I recently purchased this Nokia for the performance that I rely on from Nokia phones. I was not dissappointed. I am very happy with this phone. I purchased it 'unlocked' and have been very happy with its performance. I am a Cingular customer, and did not want to sign a new contract just to get a new phone. Great buy!
